The collaboration between American Motors and the popular performance enhancer Hurst, which began with the SC/Rambler, continued in 1970 with the development of a muscle car version of the AMC Rebel equipped with the V8 engine giving 340 hp. Only 2,300 units of this model, affordable and aimed at young drivers, were manufactured.
